Special Event - Saturday 25th October
Following the showing of Water on Friday 24th October, Deepa Mehta's Elements film trilogy continues:
Fire, 4.30pm. Tickets £2 in advance only
Sita, a beautiful and intelligent young woman embarks on an arranged, loveless marriage to a faithless husband. Frustrated by this, she comes to develop an emotionally sustaining relationship with her beautiful, young sister-in-law. Banned in India for showing that lesbianism existed in a culture that denied it could, Fire shows a desire for independence, physical affection and personal expression clashing with tradition.

The screening of Fire will be followed by an authentic Indian Supper devised and prepared by our sponsor, Pie Chambers with a choice of a meat or vegetable curry served with rice and poppadum. Cold and hot drinks from the kiosk.
